Call For Art

The 9th Occasional NASFIC/Archon 31, also officially known as TuckerCon, is fast approaching this coming August 2-5th.

We are preparing the program book for this year's event and are putting out a request to all attending artists to submit a piece (or more if you like) of art for inclusion. The art will be used for fill and other convention promotion (flyers, ads, progress reports). While there is no payment, you will receive an acknowledgment byline on your art.

The requirements are as follows:
Black and white line art. Greyscale accepted if it has good contrast. Scanned art preferred, 300 dpi, saved as a .tif file. (Layout is done in Quarkexpress 4 on a Windows XP machine).
Size/shape not an issue. We will resize and flow text as needed. If you can't scan and email art, you can snail mail art to the address below. Be sure it is a good clean photocopy. Art will not be returned. Do not send original art

Art can be compressed with a program like Winzip and sent to:
   tuckercon@artczar.org

Postal submissions can be sent to :
John Sies, 10 Highview Dr., Jacksonville, IL 62650

I am particularly interested in having some specific designs as follows:
A bullet design to use as the endcap of articles. Probably should include an arch. Check various publications for samples as many magazines use them. The final size should be about a quarter inch in diameter.
Section Icons: I would like to have some icons with a consistent style to designate various sections/ideas. Think of those flashy Windows Vista or Firefox browser icons sets for email, folders, back, forward, etc. Do not include any specific wording. Section titles will be set later. These are to be symbols for a quick visual reference.
Icons needed:

Artists
Speakers/Presenters
Art Show
Security
Artist Alley
Dealers
Masquerade
Writers/Authors

All art must be received before June 1. I do not guarantee that submissions will make it into this year's material and it may be used in subsequent Archon publications. Copyright of all art is that of it's creators.

Any questions or comments, contact me at the address below.

Thank you.
