Volunteers are an integral part of any successful convention, and we appreciate the help! This year Archon will be attended by
some very special guests, including Ray Bradbury, and once again we will be hosting a free Pizza Party with the Pro's on Sunday afternoon
for all of our Volunteers. We will have sandwich fixings and snacks available in Volunteer Headquarters throughout the weekend and we
should have some great giveaway items from our local movie advertising source and publishing companies. Last year they supplied us
with current sci-fi movie posters and buttons, and we even had some free paperback books. I can't tell you exactly what we'll have for
this year, but I'm certain they'll be donating some fun items for our volunteers. In addition to the freebies, we will also be holding a
drawing for all of Archon's volunteers and the winners will receive a free membership to next year's Archon. The more hours you work,
the more chances you will have to win. In addition to the drawing, we also plan to give away some nice prizes to this year's best
Volunteers.
Volunteer HQ will be set up in the Collinsville Convention Center in a room directly off the entry hall, (same as last year). We
will also have a secondary Volunteer HQ set up in the Holiday Inn. The Volunteers sign-up table will be right next to Con Registration in the
Convention Center, please check-in there when you arrive. We will supply you with a Volunteers ribbon and a card to record your hours
on, as well as a map of all the function areas. Please let me know in advance if you will be arriving early for the convention. Artshow
and Dealers Room setup is on Thursday night and we will need volunteers; any hours you work on Thursday will count toward your total
hours worked, and there will be free pizza and soda for anyone who is able to help.
